01 — Context

Challenge

Sales were rung on one tool and typed into accounts later. VAT, cash, and card totals drifted, and the owner could not close a day without a second shift of data entry.

02 — Method

Approach

The register posts into the chart of accounts as the ticket closes. Flutter covers the counter phones. Electron covers the back office on desktop. VAT is a ledger line, not a note on the receipt. Client name withheld under NDA.

Workflow

  1. Ring a ticket

Cashier adds items, takes cash or card, and prints or shares the receipt.

  2. Post the ledger

The API writes cash or card, sales, and VAT payable from that ticket.

  3. Close the day

Desktop back office compares drawer count with posted entries before lock.

Outcomes

  • A closed ticket creates the sales and VAT entries
  • Cashiers work on mobile. Accounting works on desktop.
  • Day close compares cash, card, and the ledger
